Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from homeowners and businesses across the Delaware Valley Region.

Our Services

What is the difference between soft washing and power washing?

Power washing uses high-pressure water to remove heavy buildup from hard surfaces like concrete driveways, brick, and stone. Soft washing uses low pressure combined with biodegradable cleaning solutions. It is the correct method for siding, roofs, and other surfaces where high pressure could cause damage. Using the wrong method for the wrong surface is one of the most common mistakes in exterior cleaning.

Are your cleaning products safe for my plants, pets, and painted surfaces?

Yes. All of our detergents are biodegradable and we rinse surrounding vegetation thoroughly after every application. We recommend keeping pets indoors during the job and for a short period while surfaces dry, as a precaution.

My roof has dark streaks. What causes that and can you remove it?
Example of dark algae streaks on a residential roof

Those streaks are almost always caused by Gloeocapsa magma, an algae that feeds on the limestone filler in asphalt shingles. It spreads over time and causes premature deterioration if left untreated. We remove it with a soft wash process that kills the algae without damaging your shingles, which is the method recommended by the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association.

How often should gutters be cleaned?

Twice a year is the standard for most homes — once in late spring after pollen and seed drop, and once in late fall after leaves have finished falling. Properties with heavy tree coverage may benefit from an additional mid-season cleaning. Clogged gutters back water up under roofing material and along fascia boards, leading to damage that costs significantly more to repair than the cleaning itself.

Will solar panel cleaning damage my panels?

No. We use deionized water applied at low pressure. Deionized water leaves no mineral residue, which is important for maintaining panel efficiency. We do not use abrasive tools or harsh chemicals on solar panels.

Do you offer commercial services?

Yes. We work with office buildings, retail storefronts, HOAs, and property management portfolios. We offer recurring maintenance agreements and seasonal packages tailored to commercial properties. Learn more about commercial services.

Scheduling & Estimates

How do I get an estimate?

The easiest way is to fill out our quote form or call us at (609) 255-3787. We also offer same-day estimates via FaceTime or Zoom. Most walkthroughs take 15 minutes or less and Ryan reviews every request personally.

How long does a typical job take?

A single-service visit for an average-sized home typically takes two to four hours. Multi-service visits or larger properties take longer. We give you a time estimate when we quote the job so you know what to plan for.

Do you work in the rain or bad weather?

We work in light to moderate rain without any problem. We do not work in lightning, high winds, or conditions that would make ladder work unsafe. We monitor forecasts closely and will reach out proactively if severe weather affects your scheduled date.

What is your rescheduling policy?

You are welcome to reschedule with 72 hours advance notice. We ask for the same courtesy in return. There is no penalty for rescheduling.

What areas do you serve?

We serve the Delaware Valley Region in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including Princeton, Hopewell, Pennington, Titusville, Lawrenceville, Flemington, Lambertville, New Hope, Yardley, Doylestown, and surrounding communities. See our full service area list.
